The suburb has 139 population according to the 2016 census.
In 1878, 200 acres of land in Oxford Falls was granted to Alexander Bowen. He named it the Bloodwood Gully. In 1902, Oxford Falls became the suburb’s official name.
Wakehurst Parkway is named after John de Vere Loder, 2nd Baron Wakehurst, the Governor of New South Wales. In January 1924, Oxford Falls Post Office started operating but it was closed in 1984.
Some of the best places to visit in Oxford Falls are the Oxford Falls Waterfall, Red Hill Reserve, Sphinx Memorial, and The Gap Lookout National Park.
Oxford Falls is the home of two schools: St Pius X College and Oxford Falls Grammar School.
