In honor of the surrounding Native Americans, Captain Arthur Phillip gave the area the name Manly, explaining, "Their confidence and manly manner made me give this spot the name of Manly Cove."
On August 1st, 1916, Corrie Road Post Office opened. In 1926, it changed its name to North Manly and closed in 1978.
