Fairlight is a northern Sydney suburb located between Balgowlah and Manly in the state of New South Wales, Australia. It extends north past Balgowlah Road and west to Hill Street.
Fairlight is 13 kilometers northeast of Sydney's central business district and is part of the Northern Beaches region.
Fairlight is named after Fairlight House, which was built by Henry Gilbert Smith in 1853 on land purchased from John Parker, who had received a land grant in 1837. The house was named after Fairlight, East Sussex, a historic village near Hastings on England's south coast.
Manly's beaches, waterfront eateries, unique boutiques, and city ferries are all conveniently located near Fairlight.
