Collaroy is one of the suburbs in northern Sydney, New South Wales, Australia. The suburb sits 22 kilometers northeast of the central business district within the Northern Beaches Council’s local government area. Collaroy is also within the Northern Beaches region. Most locals called Collaroy "The Roy".
Suburbs surrounding Collaroy are the Tasman Sea, Narrabeen, Collaroy Plateau, Cromer, and Dee Why.
Collaroy originally sits within the Narrabeen suburb. But in 1881, it was renamed S.S Collaroy.
In February 1923, the Collaroy Beach Post Office opened. In April 1949, the Collaroy Plateau Post Office started operation but was closed in 1988. In November 1967, the Collaroy Plateau West Post Office opened and in 1996, it was renamed Collaroy Plateau.
You will find Salvation Army in Collaroy. It is the biggest conference and outdoor education center in the suburb.
