Collaroy Plateau is a suburb in the Australian state of New South Wales, north of Sydney.
The Collaroy Plateau is situated in the Beaches region, 22 kilometers northeast of Sydney's CBD. It is governed by the Northern Beaches Council.
Collaroy, which originally belonged to Narrabeen, gets its name from the Australian aboriginal word for "big reeds."
The steamer "Collaroy" ran aground on Long Reef at the neighborhood's southernmost point in 1881. To see the wreck, which later gave the suburb its name, crowds flocked from all over the neighborhood.
The Collaroy Plateau offers views of the Narrabeen Lagoon, Collaroy Beach, Long Reef Beach, and Narrabeen Beach from various points.
